New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will hold a media conference today at 5 p.m.on the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016. ICC Chief Executive Dave Richardson and ICC WT20 India 2016 Tournament Director Dr MV Sridhar will address the media at the Le Meridien Hotel. It is anticipated that Dave Richardson and MV Sridhar might reveal some points of the mega event which are still unknown to the public. They may also clarify a few issues like the status of India-Pakistan match. The qualifiers for ICC World T20 2016 have already started. A total of 32 matches will be played in the tournament barring the two semi final games scheduled for March 30 and 31 respectively. The first semi final will be played at Delhi and the second in Mumbai. The final is tabled for April 3 at Kolkata. Earlier, the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) had alleged that the state government was creating hindrance in the much-awaited IndiaPakistan ICC World T20 2016 in Dharamsala for their political agenda. HPCA spokesperson Sanjay Sharma, however, revealed that the Pakistani security team which visited India to ensure security measures for their players looked quite satisfied with the arrangements. “Two days back, Pakistan security team came here to know about all the security arrangements. They have assessed the venue, players’ staying place and on route security. They discussed about these all plans with us and they were satisfied. But state government is creating hindrance for their political agenda,” he had said.
