BCB have stated that they will name the captain later
Bangladesh cricket board announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC U-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand. When all was said and done, they kept the doors open for the captain’s slot. BCB have stated that they will announce the skipper in few days. Saif Hassan, who led Bangladesh to the semi-finals of Asia Cup recently, is a strong contender for the top job. Bangladesh are placed in Group C alongside Namibia, Canada and England.
As many as 13 players, who recently featured in the U-19 Asia Cup, have been named in the squad for the mega event. Tipu Sultan and Roni Hossen didn’t feature in the Asia Cup, but have found a place in the squad. On the other hand, Shakhawat Hossain, a part of Asia Cup, is among the seven stand-by players for the world event.
