Eventually, Javeria Khan will not be joining her teammates in Delhi due to health issues. This was the first time Pakistani players saw a player get knocked off on the ground. They were involved in a low scoring clash against the Caribbeans chasing a modest total of 104. The game was live until the last ball which ultimately ended in Pakistan losing by 4 runs. They scored a total of 99 for 5 in 20 overs.

The Pakistan team were in shock as the skipper Sana Mir said, “We have never seen a player go down to the ground, the dressing-room was in shock. We had been constantly checking on her health as the match progressed. Considering that, I’m proud of the way the girls fought until the end.” It is highly unlikely that Javeria Khan will be fit to play against the hosts India in Delhi on 19th March in their next group stage match.
