Ahead of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 final versus England, India were seen sweating it out in the net session at Lord’s. However, there was Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, also present and bowled to the Indian batswomen. He was up against the likes of Veda Krishnamurthy as Mithali Raj’s side are gearing up for the marquee final; their second overall, against England at the home of cricket. This is not the first time that the left-arm fast bowler was bowling to international stars in the nets. The 17-year-old was also present in England men’s practice session ahead of their first Test versus South Africa. He had reportedly injured Jonny Bairstow on a yorker.

Talking about the World Cup final, India are a step away from winning the cup on Sunday. Beating Australia in the semi-finals, Mithali-led side’s confidence would be sky high of beating England. This will be their second attempt at claiming the World Cup after 2009 (wherein they lost to Australia).

In addition, India women are a touching distance from replicating their counterpart men’s feat from 1983 – when Kapil Dev’s side lifted maiden World Cup trophy at Lord’s.

Having defeated England in their tournament-opener, one cannot take Indian eves lightly at the summit clash.
