It is the final set of matches of the Super Six stage of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. South Africa will play Ireland at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground and Sri Lanka meet Bangladesh at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo. South Africa have already qualified for the World Cup with three victories in four matches whereas Ireland have not been able to win a single match in the Super Six stages. On the other hand, Sri Lanka have won two out of the four matches and will look to defeat underdogs Bangladesh to finish off in a better position and qualify for World Cup.

Ireland’s last game was against Pakistan who defeated them by 86 runs. Pakistan put up a challenging target of 272 for Ireland to chase. Cecelia Joyce’s 41, Kim Garth’s 33 and Isobel Joyce’s 33 could only take Ireland to 185 at the end of their innings. Coming off a big defeat and facing South Africa will be a tough task for Ireland. South Africa’s only defeat came against table-toppers India and with adequate points under their belt, they will look to be immensely confident to face Ireland.

Sri Lanka faced South Africa in their last clash and defeated the latter by 9 wickets. Inoka Ranaweera’s girls had put up a paltry 142 against heavyweights South Africa who chased it down with 13.5 overs at hand. Nipuni Hansika, Chamari Atapattu will be the ones to watch out for against Bangladesh. Bangladesh, on the other hand, lost their last enocounter to India. Fargana Hoque, Sharmin Akhter have performed well with the bat whereas Khadija Tul Kubra has been the most consistent with the ball.
