Indian Women team reached a score of 104 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs against Australia in the Group A match of the World T20 match on Thursday.

Earlier after winning the toss and electing to bat first, India lost quick wickets. India lost openers Amita Sharma (11) in the fifth over and Poonam Raut scored was dismissed in the seventh over.

Raut top scored for India with 21 runs as she was dismissed by Osborne who picked three wickets for Australia, the most in the match.

Skipper Mithali Raj s attempt to resurrect the score but was ran out on 18 runs by Jess Jonassen.
