Sep 18, 2014 The Indore Development Authority (IDA) has announced that a huge replica of the ICC World Cup 2011 trophy that was won by India will be inaugurated during the Global Investors Summit scheduled to take place soon. According to a report in TOI, the statue of the trophy will be 36 feet high, and is estimated to have cost around Rs 15 lakh. It was commissioned in 2012 and scheduled to be completed the same year, but due to a failure in deciding the final design, the work was postponed. IDA officials said that the delay in was due to a lack of consensus in approval of the concept and design. Former collector Raghvendra Singh Raghuvanshi had first announced the undertaking to celebrate India's World Cup win in 2011. Sculptor Mahendra Kodwani said, "The work was given to us in 2012 and it was to be completed in the same year...The statue is going to be an exact replica of the original world cup. Ball with globe design will be a unique feature...Three pillars like stumps have been installed and within a week, the ball will also be placed above the stumps. The material used in it is grain resin process material."
