Johannesburg: South Africa cricket team coach Russell Domingo has branded all the public hating all-rounder Wayne Parnell‘s inclusion in South Africa’s Cricket World Cup squad as unfair.
Domingo said that he doesn’t know why some people hate Parnell so much, adding that maybe it’s because of the paceman’s hairstyle. He insisted that the left-armer is a wonderful guy and really works hard.
Domingo claimed that people’s perceptions about a cricket player, about a person, are often very different to what that person is actually like, Sport24 reported.
Domingo said that Parnell would be valuable to the South African cause during the upcoming World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, adding that the bowler is a match winner, like they saw again the other day when he took four wickets in the final ODI against the West Indies in Centurion.
The coach claimed that Parnell boasts a very good record in terms of taking wickets in one-day cricket, adding that the bowler hits the ball well when coming in to bat at the tail-end of the innings, so he claimed that the left-arm paceman could definitely bat at number seven or eight in any of the World Cup games.
