Tony Ura

Papua New Guinea claimed the 9th place in the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018 after they beat Hong Kong. Electing to bat, PNG managed to touch the 200 mark in the 49th over before getting all out. Tony Ura and skipper Assad Vala provided a good start to PNG innings; adding 68 runs. Hong Kong in reply were 68 for 1, but lost their way after the wicket of Anshuman Rath. PNG won the match by 58 runs, after bowling Hong Kong out for 142.

Skipper Babar Hayat was the top scorer for Hong Kong with quick fire 37 off 25 balls; 34 off his 37 runs came in boundaries. Nizakat Khan got out in haste after scoring three boundaries in a row for 13. Norman Vanua and Charles Amini took 8 wickets between them and saw PNG home.

In the first innings, Ura missed his half century by one run. He managed to hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Chad Soper (40) and Mahuru Dai(34) added 59 runs for the 5th wicket. It was in the 42nd over , that Soper was dismissed by Kinchit Shah, PNG were 168 for 5 at one stage. Later their tail collapsed, not adding much. Kinchit Shah finished with figures 4 for 11 in his 3.2 overs.
