Brendon McCullum hit a swashbuckling century as New Zealand reached 191 runs in 20 overs against Bangladesh in the fifth T20 match on Friday.

Earlier, Bangladesh opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Openers could add only 19 runs as spinner Abdur Razzak dimissed Martin Guptill for 11 runs in the fourth over.

McCullum, batting at No 3 then took charge of the innings and scored an unebaten ton to help Kiwis set up a challenging total for Bangladesh.

He scored 123 off just 58 balls before being dismissed off the last ball of the innings by Razzak.

Two giant-killers who have a reputation of disturbing set calculations will be up against each other when New Zealand and Bangladesh clash in their opening Group D match of the World Twenty20 on Friday.

Both Bangladesh and New Zealand are known to raise the bar when it comes to performing at major ICC events and it would be interesting to see which of the two manages to go a notch higher in the one-on-one battle.

Brief Scores: New Zealand 191 for 3 in 20 overs (Brendon McCullum 123, James Franklin 35; Abdur Razzak 2 for 28) vs Bangladesh
