With the ICC World Twenty20 (T20) 2016 nearing, India has plenty of opportunities to explore their side before the D-Day comes in. Before the tournament begins, India will be facing West Indies and South Africa for warm-up T20I matches on March 10 and March 13 respectively at Eden Gardens. Incidentally, the finals of ICC World T20 will also be held at Eden Gardens. It will be interesting to watch both the sides clash as the last match India faced South Africa was again on their home ground for four match Tests series and India emerged as winners. South Africa are aware of the conditions in sub-continent as they have played matches earlier on the Indian grounds. They did face miserable defeat and Indian spinners were noticeable and helped them to reach the top of the ranks. The last time India faced West Indies was at ICC World Cup 2015 and India beat West Indies by 4 wickets, while MS Dhoni was the top scorer for the team striking 45 not out and Ravichandran Ashwin scoring 16 not out. But playing on India home ground will be a different game altogether.
Prior to the Test match India and South Africa did face each other at Eden Gardens in October, 2015 but the match was called off and they missed an opportunity to play on this mighty ground. Eden Gardens have witnessed domestic matches with Indian Premier League (IPL) finals being held at Eden Gardens always. South Africa as well as West Indies will surely get an idea of the Indian pitch situation as this will prove to be a stance to help them in the tournament further. India have plenty of opportunities to excel in T20I matches as they are presently touring Australia and will be playing T20I matches after the One-Day Internationals (ODIs) matches, they have T20I series with Sri Lanka, Asia Cup and the big tournament of T20 World Cup
