According to Michael Vaughan, former English cricketer, Kevin Pietersen should be included in the team’s squad for ICC World T20 2016. Vaughan believes Pietersen has played well in the last couple of months. In a conversation with BBC Sport he said, “ The way he is playing, the level of performance he showed in RamSlam in South Africa, scoring hundreds and then to the standards he has played in big bash [BBL 2016] in front of massive crowd, big pressure. He won the Melbourne Stars the semi-final, he nearly won them the final pretty much single headedly. A year ago he wasn’t playing well, he was nowhere near the England team. I think the one day team has got in such a nice direction but the team for the world cup, I personally want the best team for England.” LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: South Africa vs England 2015-16, 4th Test at Centurion

“He has so much expertise playing in India.. with so much expertise, with that X-factor he could make so much difference in India and compete in a T20 world cup in India and potentially winning it. I don’t think it will happen but I’ll pick him.” Vaughan said a domestic T20 tournament on the lines of BBL can also be played in England, “We should also look at the future of cricket and what it can provide, many people ask why do we not have BBL in UK in July and August four-five weeks. There might be a few less teams we see. I’m sure ECB is looking at it.”
