India wrapped up Day 1 at 310 for 5 after England captain Ben Stokes chose to bowl first. Leading from the front, Indian skipper Shubman Gill top-scored with a brilliant century, while Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed a valuable half-century.

Stumps, Day 2!
Harry Brook and Joe Root remained unbeaten at stumps, putting together a 52-run stand for the fourth wicket as England trail India by 510 runs. It was a day completely dominated by the Indian side first piling up a mammoth total of 587, powered by Shubman Gill’s 269, and then striking early to remove three English batters.
