India will be eyeing a long-awaited victory as Day 5 of the second Test against England gets underway at Edgbaston. With just seven wickets standing between them and a historic win their first at this venue in 58 years.
England ended Day 4 at 72/3, with Ollie Pope and Harry Brook trying to steady the innings. India’s pace duo, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj, struck late on Sunday Akash picking up two wickets and Siraj one, to tighten the grip on the match.
However, weather could be a factor, with rain expected in the morning that might delay India’s charge. A win today would not only break a decades-long drought at Edgbaston but also level the five-match series 1-1.
