The the five-match Test series tied at one-all and a new start after a long break, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja feels the home team is well-prepared to face England’s challenge for the balance of the series, which begins with the third Test on Thursday (February 15). He is sure that the challenge provided by England is unique but not necessarily tough.
“The first Test that we lost, we had taken a lead of 190 runs and from there we slipped. In the second innings, due to small mistakes we lost the game. It is not that England are difficult to beat but they play with a different style and it takes some time to understand that. Once you understand their style and approach we can plan our game accordingly.”

During the third Test, India is scheduled to field two debutants, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel. This, along with an already inexperienced collection of individuals – Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rajat Patidar – will result in being one of India’s most rookie Test batting lineups in the recent decade. However, Jadeja is optimistic that these players’ extensive local experience will serve them well against England’s bowling assault.

At his own venue, his spin partner Ravi Ashwin is likely to become the second Indian bowler to reach 500 wickets. His current total stands at 499, and Jadeja feels it’s just a question of fate.
