The ongoing India-England series is now tied 1-1. Following a dismal loss in the first test, India recovered in the second, with Yashasvi Jaiswal striking a double century and Jasprit Bumrah collecting ten wickets.

The problem for Team India is that, despite having three spinners, Jasprit Bumrah’s workload has not been eased significantly. Bumrah was mostly responsible for getting wickets in both matches. Siraj and Mukesh, both quick bowlers, could not do much to help Bumrah. This will undoubtedly raise concerns among team management about Bumrah’s workload.

India has added Akash Deep, a Bengal pacer, to its squad for the last three matches, but if India does not include Bumrah, it would be an extremely average fast bowling lineup.

However, there is almost a 10-day break between the second and third tests, which may allow Jasprit adequate time to manage his workload.
