At Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, England’s seasoned right-arm seamer James Anderson is just five wickets away from reaching 700 Test wickets as he gets ready for the third Test of the current five-match Test series against India. In the 184 games he has played for his country, Anderson has claimed 695 wickets at an average of 26.34. He has also surrendered runs at a 2.78 economy rate, including 32 four-wicket catches and 32 five-wicket catches. Should he accomplish this feat, he will rank third overall and as the first seamer to do so, after the great spinners Shane Warne (708), and Muttiah Muralitharan (800).
In one Test match he participated in at Visakhapatnam, Anderson claimed five wickets, with an outstanding figures of 3/47.

Pacer Mark Wood, took Shoaib Bashir’s spot in the playing XI for the third Test match between England and India in Rajkot on Wednesday, according to the England Cricket Board (ECB). Currently the series is levelled at 1-1.
“The Three Lions have made one change with Mark Wood replacing Shoaib Bashir,” the statement from ECB said.
Skipper Ben Stokes will play his 100th Test match for England at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
“Captain Ben Stokes is set to make his 100th Test appearance in Rajkot,” it added.
