Rajat Patidar entered the crease after fall of two wickets and when the Team required a solid partnership again for India on Day 4 of the 4th Test against England at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Unfortunately, his stint lasted just 6 balls before he was dismissed for a duck. Amidst several players missing from the series and younger talents being afforded opportunities to debut, Patidar appears to be the lone individual who failed to capitalize on the chance provided to him. Disappointed fans expressed their frustration on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), where they criticized and mocked the batsman.
Shoaib Bashir’s remarkable spell turned the game on its head as he claimed the wickets of Ravindra Jadeja and Sarfaraz Khan in quick succession. With Shubman Gill now partnered by Dhruv Jurel, India, five wickets down, are in desperate need of a stabilizing partnership. Despite holding a commanding position earlier, India now finds themselves in trouble as England mounted a spirited comeback.
