Inspired by a brilliant all-round display, India beat Pakistan in the Under-23 Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Teams Cup final by nine wickets at the Kallang Ground, Singapore, on Sunday.

After bowling out Pakistan for 159, India chased the target with ease. Opener Unmukt Chand  got out early after hitting three boundaries in his 18-ball knock of 15.

However Lokesh Rahul and Manprit Juneja added an unbeaten stand of 132 runs for the second wicket to guide India Under-23 to victory.

Earlier, Pakistan’s innings got off to a poor start after they won the toss and elected to bowl. Within the first 10 overs they lost two wickets for 35 runs.

Pakistan had lost their first nine wickets for just 107 runs. However, the last pair offered resistance to add 52 more runs to the total.

Baba Aparajith was the pick of the bowlers picking up three wickets for 27 runs off his seven overs. Suryakumar Yadav and Sandeep Sharma too snarled two wickets each.

Brief scores:

Pakistan Under-23 159 in 47 overs ( Umar Wahid 41, Usman Qadir 33; Baba Aparajith 3 for 28) lost to India Under-23 160 for 1 in 33.4 overs (Lokesh Rahul 93*, Manprit Juneja 51*; Raza Hasan 1 for 41) by 9 wickets.
