Team India received a big boost after pace spearhead Zaheer Khan was declared fit ahead of its World Cup opener against Bangladesh at Mirpur on Saturday.

According to reports, the left-arm seamer, who is suffering from a lingering shoulder injury, did not play in India’s warm-up games against Australia and New Zealand, which India won comprehensively.

The Indian pace bowling department had earlier suffered a blow when Praveen Kumar pulled out of the World Cup with an elbow injury and was replaced by Shanthakumaran Sreesanth.
