Gautam Gambhir-led India Blue will resume their batting against Suresh Raina captained India Green on Day 2 of third match of Duleep Trophy 2016-17 at Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground. Day 1 of this match was quite good for India Blue as they put up 336 runs on board by losing only three wickets. Openers Mayank Agarwal played a belligerent knock of 161 runs while his captain Gambhir fell 10-run short of his century as he got out at 90.
In between, Siddhesh Lad failed to score much as he got out for one but Cheteshwar Pujara also played a handy knock of 63 runs and still unbeaten at the crease. Pujara will continue his batting on Day 2 along with his partner Abhimanyu Mithun. From the bowling department of India Red, there were only two bowlers who could take wicket and they were Jasprit Bumrah and Ashok Dinda. On the other hand, Jalaj Saxena and Ankit Rajpoot were economical with their bowling but went wicketless.
With seven wickets in hand, India Blue will surely eye to score big total while India Red will try their best to restrict them and not let them score big total. It will be surely a bit difficult for India Green bowlers as Pujara is looking in good touch and the pitch is not assisting bowlers much.
