The Indian team will most likely be entering the 5-match T20I series against England without the services of pace sensation Mayank Yadav. The 22-year-old made his T20I debut against Bangladesh last year after impressing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL with his ability to bowl around the pace of 150 kmph.

Mayank has been facing a back injury issue for a while and he is unlikely to be fit in time for the England T20I series which is set to commence from January 22.

“He’s suffering from a back injury and is unlikely to be fit for the England series. He hasn’t even been named amongst the probables for Delhi’s first Ranji match of the second leg against Saurashtra from January 23,” a source in the BCCI told the Times of India.

Mayank has been tipped by many to become the next big thing in India’s pace bowling unit across all formats, however injuries have seen him miss out on many matches. The 22-year-old is yet to make his debut in both the Test and ODI format.
