India are now No.1 ranked side in the ICC Test rankings after Sri Lanka recorded a historic series whitewash against Australia. Sri Lanka won the third and final Test at Colombo after bundling Australia for 160 runs chasing 324 in the fourth innings. Australia who were No.1 before the start of the series are now placed No.3 with 108 points. Pakistan who leveled the 4-Test series after their win against England at The Oval are No.2 in the ranking with 111 points. Australia are closely followed by England with 108 points at No.4. New Zealand who won their last series in Zimbabwe are placed just above 99 points at No.5. Former world No.1 South Africa are placed at a miserly No.7 with 92 points. West Indies who are 2-0 down in the series are placed at No.8 with 65 points. Below them are Bangladesh with 57 and Zimbabwe with just 8 points, completing the 10 Test teams.

However India could lose their No.1 ranking if they draw or lose the fourth Test against West Indies. Only a 3-0 win will ensure that India stay the top ranked Test side. Pakistan will go on top if India win their series by 2-0. New Zealand and South Africa are also set to lock horn in a 2-Test series starting August 19.
