India restricted Nepal at 168 for 8 in 48 overs in the 19th match of the ongoing ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at Dhaka. The wickets were shared between Avesh Khan, Mayank Dagar and Washington Sundar, two wickets each for three of them and Avesh bagged three wickets. While an excellent effort from Arman Jaffer and Rishabh Pant behind the wickets got Diperndra Singh Airee run out, leaving Nepal at 99 for 6 in 34.2 overs. Nepal’s opening batsman Sandeep Sunar top-scored for his side with his innings of 37 runs from 73 balls. He lasted on crease for 97 minutes before Dagar removed him in the 23rd over. The match had begun late due to fog so it has been reduced to 48 overs per side. While both Nepal and India have won bioth their matches so far in the tournament, they have progressed to the quater-final. Today’s match will only see which side is a stronger one.

Meanwhile, a total of five Nepal batsmen were dismissed scoring only in single digits with the other opener Sunil Dhamala going for a two-ball duck. Avesh Khan removed him on the last ball of their innings’ first over, leaving Nepal at 5 for 1. The next fall of wicket happened six overs later, when Avesh Khan struck again. Yogendra Singh Karki, who was the new batsman on crease became Avesh’s second scalp of the day. The highest partnership for Nepal was built between Rajbir Singh and Prem Tamang for the eighth wicket. They built up a stand of 37 runs in 8.3 overs before Avesh removed Rajbir on the fifth ball of the 45th over.
