After the conclusion of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England on June 18, India will travel to the West Indies for a limited-overs series starting June 23. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the Indian tour on Tuesday. India will play five ODIs and one-off T20I on the tour, which will be go on till July 9. The opening two ODIs will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on June 23 and 25, while the third and the fourth games will be held on June 30 and July 2 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The final ODI (July 6) and the lone T20I (July 9) will be played at the Sabina Park in Jamaica. ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Sachin Tendulkar’s vital message for Indian cricket team

India had also travelled to West Indies after the conclusion of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. After sending a second-string side under MS Dhoni to Zimbabwe, a full-member squad was sent to the Caribbean for a four-Test-series. India won the series 2-0 whereas a two-match T20I series was held at USA, which went in favour of the West Indies side 1-0.

Currently, India are at the third spot in the latest ICC ODI rankings whereas West Indies are languishing at ninth. On the other hand, the Jason Holder-led West Indies are placed sixth in T20Is and Virat Kohli‘s India are only behind New Zealand in the rankings with 124 points. With hosts out of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 after failing to qualify for the marquee event, they will be expected to pose some threat against a well-oiled Indian side.
