KL Rahul has been dismissed for three in his maiden Test innings. Rahul walked out to bat after Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli had put up a 262-run stand. Rahul was first dropped at mid-wicket by Peter Siddle when he tried to clear mid-wicket. The next ball, he attempted a sweep off Lyon and was caught at short fine-leg.

India have Virat Kohli in the middle and MS Dhoni has joined him. They are now the key if India are to take any lead in this game. The partnership between Kohli and Rahane has put them in a good spot and they need to make sure that they make it count with another good performance.

Earlier, Australia had won the toss and had elected to bat first. Joe Burns is debuting for them. On the other hand, India brought in KL Rahul, who gets his Test cap. Mohammed Shami has replaced Varun Aaron. Australia are leading the series 2-0 after winning the first two Tests in Adelaide and Brisbane. Steven Smith’s 192 helped Australia score 530 in the first innings
