KL Rahul has scored his maiden Test fifty in the fourth Test between India and Australia in Sydney. India began Day Three on 71 for one and Rohit Sharma and Rahul batted solidly. They had lost Murali Vijay for no score in the first over of their innings of Day Two. Since then, these two have batted well. India are now 118 for two.
Rahul was criticised for his performance on debut in the third Test in Melbourne. In both innings, he had played rash shots to get out. This time, he has looked much more assured and in control. There has been solidity with the way he has batted. These are good signs for India.
Australia won the toss and chose to bat first on a good looking wicket. The only change in their team was Mitchell Starc replacing Mitchell Johnson. India made four changes to their team. MS Dhoni’s retirement allowed Wriddhiman Saha to don the gloves. Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar came in place of Cheteshwar Pujara, Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma. KL Rahul managed to hold on to his spot.
