Rohit Sharma has been dismissed by Nathan Lyon after he scored his fifty on Day Three of the fourth Test between India and Australia in Sydney. Rohit dragged one back onto his stumps soon after getting to his fifty. This is only his second Test fifty and has come after a long interval. Batting at No. 3 after the early wicket of Murali Vijay late on Day Two, Rohit has done very well to go on to make this fifty. India have been given a solid platform by KL Rahul and Rohit. India are 97 for two.
Rohit has been criticised for not showing good temperament, but in this innings, he had been in good form and is doing well. There have been the odd occasions where he had flashed outside the off-stump, but he has not edged. But, it has largely been a measured knock one would say. Until of course, the last shot he played.
Australia won the toss and chose to bat first on a good looking wicket. The only change in their team was Mitchell Starc replacing Mitchell Johnson. India made four changes to their team. MS Dhoni’s retirement allowed Wriddhiman Saha to don the gloves. Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar came in place of Cheteshwar Pujara, Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma. KL Rahul managed to hold on to his spot.
