India’s leading run-scorer in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2018, Shubam Gill departed for a 31-ball 30 against Australia in the final. Gill came in after the fall of Prithvi Shaw with India chasing 217 to lift their fourth world cup title. Gill along with Manjot Kalra added 60 runs for the second wicket. At time of publishing India are 143 for 2, needing more 74 to win.

Gill was bowled by Param Uppal. This was Gill’s first non-fifty + score in this World Cup. He finishes the World Cup with 372 runs in 6 matches at an astounding average of 186. His highest score of 102* came against Pakistan in the semi-finals. He also has 3 fifties to his name. Chasing 217, India were off to a steady start with Kalra and Prithvi Shaw adding 71 runs at a brisk pace. Shaw made a 41 ball 29, before he was cleaned up by Will Sutherland.
