Ravindra Jadeja’s fool-hardiness cost India their fifth wicket and India’s pursuit of the India tooka serious blow and as wickets kept tumbling after the loss Virat Kohli. The runs were drying out and even MS Dhoni was finding the going a little tough due to sustained pressure by English bowlers. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni were stifled by the English bowlers after the important wicket of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina was unable to reproduce his One-Day International form and was castled off a stunning yorker by left-arm pacer Harry Gurney. Raina and skipper MS Dhoni were restricted by the Gurney’s yorkers before a brilliant ball took off his off-stump.
After Virat Kohli reaches his scintillating fifty, Suresh Raina also got on to the act and India are dealing with boundaries against England in the Only T20 International. The Indian batting talisman was then culpable of going for one shot too many Chris Woakes took a good diving catch running forward. The damage has been done though and Kohli has put India in sight of victory.
Earlier, England won the toss and chose to bat first. Jason Roy made his debut for England. For India, Ambati Rayudu and Karn Sharma made their T20 International debuts. The captains, MS Dhoni and Eoin Morgan are playing their respective 50th T20 Internationals. Morgan has played a few for Ireland though. Dhoni has played 49 of those as captain. Morgan celebrated the occasion with a brilliant 71 run off 31 balls. That innings helped take England to 180 runs. England smashed 81 runs off the last 10 overs.
