Virat Kohli has helped India recover after they lost Ajinkya Rahane early in their run-chase of 181 against England in the only T20 International at Edgbaston. Chasing 181, India are now 40 for one in five overs. Shikhar Dhawan is now batting with Kohli and they would want to set the tone for the rest of the innings.
India had lost Ajinkya Rahane early, but then Virat Kohli came out with positive intent. He has had a tough tour, but this is his last chance to do well on this sojourn. He started off by flicking Harry Gurney for a four over mid-wicket. He then smashed Chris Woakes for a four through the leg-side and then guided a short-ball through fine-leg for a four. Kohli then drove Woakes for a four through cover. In the fifth over, Dhawan smashed Gurney for a six over square-leg.
Earlier, England won the toss and chose to bat first. Jason Roy made his debut for England. For India, Ambati Rayudu and Karn Sharma made their T20 International debuts. The captains, MS Dhoni and Eoin Morgan are playing their respective 50th T20 Internationals. Morgan has played a few for Ireland though. Dhoni has played 49 of those as captain. Morgan celebrated the occasion with a brilliant 71 run off 31 balls. That innings helped take England to 180 runs. England smashed 81 runs off the last 10 overs.
