India’s centurion from the second One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against Australia, Rohit Sharma misses the third match against England due to an injury. Ambati Rayudu replaces him in the side. Rohit made 138 off 139 balls in the previous match that propelled India to a fighting total of 267. All-rounder Stuart Binny replaces Ravichandran Ashwin in the side, which makes Akshar Patel the lone spinner for India.

India had earlier won the toss and elected to bat first, with Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane opening the innings for India. James Anderson replaces Chris Jordan in the side for England, who missed the previous game against Australia due to an injury. Both teams lost their respective opening games to Australia and are looking to get off the mark in this tri-series.

India have not won a single game in this tour of Australia and this game is extremely crucial as it will help them inch closer to the finals scheduled to be played in Perth on February 1.
