Ahead of the last two Tests of the five-match series against India, England have made few forced changes to their squad. Opener Haseeb Hameed got injured while practice during the third Test and Zafar Ansari was struggling with his back injury. Hameed will be returning to England to get treatment on his hand. In place of Hameed, England have called Keaton Jennings, opener of English County side Durham. Jennings is the son of former cricketer Ray Jennings, who is the coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Indian Premier League (IPL). Keaton is leading scorer in the County Championship in 2016 with 1,548 runs at 64.50. Full Cricket Scorecard: India vs England 3rd Test at Mohali.
In place of Ansari, England have called left-arm spinner from Hampshire Liam Dawson. The Hampshire all-rounder made his One-Day and Twenty20 International debut for England last summer. Dawson is currently playing in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) but will have to leave the tournament in the middle to join England Test side ahead of fourth Test. Newcomer Hameed played exceptionally well in his debut series. He scored 219 runs from three Tests at 43.80. Apart from him, pacer Stuart Broad was also suffering from shoulder injury since second Test but managed to get fit and will play the remaining two matches in the series.
Keaton will fly to India from Dubai — where he is at the moment with the England Lions side — after leading the Lions in their first match against UAE on Thursday. Also, Chris Woakes was diagnosed with a small crack on his right thumb while batting at Mohali. Hopefully, Woakes will be fit for the fourth Test at Mumbai.
