Statistical highlights on the fourth day of the second cricket Test between India and England, on Monday.
# Kevin Pietersen has fetched his tenth Man-of-the-Match award in Tests.
# For England, the spinners have claimed 19 wickets in a Test match for the second time against India – fourth time overall. Against India on four occasions, spinners have bagged 19 wickets in a Test match.
# England’s win against India is their 12th in 53 Tests in India – winning % 22.64. (Lost 15 & Drawn 26).
# Of the last five Tests between the two countries in India, both teams have won two games each (Drawn 1).
# India’s last win at Wankhede Stadium was by 13 runs against Australia in November 2004.
# England’s impressive ten-wicket win is their 39th in 105 Tests – the most won by a team against India.
# Monty Panesar (6/81) has recorded his best bowling performance in a Test innings against India.
# Panesar is averaging 21.36 in winning cause in Tests – his aggregate being 65 in 14 Tests, including seven instances of five-wicket hauls.
# Panesar (11 for 210), for the first time has captured eleven wickets in a Test match, surpassing the 10 for 187 against the West Indies at Old Trafford in 2007. Nine instances of a spinner claiming ten wickets or more in a Test match have been registered in India.
# Panesar became the fifth spinner to bag eleven wickets in a Test match against India. Muttiah Muralitharan is the only one to record the feat twice. Richie Benaud, Panesar, Krejza and Hedley Verity have recorded one instance each.
# Panesar’s above performance is the second best by a visiting bowler in a Test match at Wankhede Stadium. Ian Botham had taken 13 for 106 apart from posting a hundred for England in 1979-80
# Panesar has joined Botham, Sivaramakrishnan, Richard Hadlee and Iqbal Qasim. All five have bagged ten wickets or more in a Test match at Wankhede Stadium.
