The Indian bowlers had some workout on the Day 3 of their only practice match of the England tour against Essex on Thursday. Two of their bowlers – Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma – have shown they are in some sort of rhythm. However, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur and Hardik Pandya have much work to do.
Essex, on the other hand, rode on two half-centuries – from captain Tom Westley and Michael-Kyle Pepper – as they shaved 237 runs for the loss of five wickets and are currently trailing the world’s No. 1 Test team by 158 runs.
