India vs New Zealand 2016: Day-night Test cancelled?

New Zealand's tour of India 2016 will begin on September 22 with the first Test being held at Kanpur.

The much hyped speculation of the inaugural Day-night Test in India which was due to take place in the series against New Zealand is will not see the day at all. According to the schedule put out on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official website the 3rd Test between India and New Zealand will take place in the day time. The 3rd Test of the three- match series will take place at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, which will host its first ever Test match. Ironically a few weeks ago Eden Garden hosted the first ever Day-Night pink ball domestic game between city clubs Mohun Bagan and Bhowanipore. he Indian cricket team have a busy schedule ahead with 17 Tests lined up till March 2017, a period in which they will also be playing in total 8 ODIs and 3 T20I matches. New Zealand’s tour of India 2016 begins on September 22 with the three-Test series, which will be followed by five ODIs. New Zealand’s tour of India will last a little more than a month, and it will end on October 29.  There were a few reports suggesting that New Zealand had backed out of the day-night Test, but the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have quashed all such reports saying they have not declined playing the day-night Test against India.
