Zaheer Khan has taken two wickets in the morning session on Day Three to put New Zealand in further trouble in the second Test. New Zealand are at 57 for three after 21 overs in Wellington on February 16, 2014. They trail India by 189 runs in their second innings.
New Zealand started the day at 24 for one, but Zaheer struck in the second over as he dismissed Kane Williamson for seven. off 22 deliveries. He pitched one just outside the off-stump and made the ball go away slightly. Williamson pushed at it, but got a faint edge on his bat and MS Dhoni took a low catch behind the wickets.
Hamish Rutherford was in good form as he struck three fours on the off side. But Zaheer bowled one outside off-stump and made the ball hold its line. Rutherford tried to defend it, but the ball took the outside edge of the bat and went through to Dhoni. Rutherford was out for 35 off 55 deliveries.
Tom Latham is batting on 13 and Brendon McCullum is on zero. Zaheer has taken all three wickets in New Zealand’s second innings so far.
