Indian women and Pakistani eves will play for pride when they clash at the Barabati Stadium for the 7-8th position playoff of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2013.
Both teams failed to qualify for the Super Six stage and will want to avoid finishing last.
Pakistan captain Sana Mir has won the toss and elected to bat first at Cuttack.
Sent crashing out of the Women’s World Cup by Sri Lanka, India would seek to restore some pride when they take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their 7-8th classification match here tomorrow.
The humiliating 138-run defeat against Sri Lanka last night also meant that India will now have to go through the qualifiers to feature in the next edition of the World cup four years later.
The collective failure of the top order batsmen in their last two matches even in home conditions has hurt the team badly and India will need to regroup quickly to prevent an equally demoralising Pakistanis emerging victorious.
