India women will take on their arch-rivals Pakistan Women in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2017 at the P Sara Oval Colombo in Match No. 7 of Super Six round on Sunday. The six teams that have qualified for the Super Six stages of qualifiers are India, South Africa, Pakistan, hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland. India have remained unbeaten in the tournament and are sitting pretty on top of the points table. On the other hand, Pakistan Women were second in their group stages and lost their first encounter of the Super Six round. Nonetheless, they bounced back in the next game versus Ireland. Both teams have had some enthralling clashes and will be expected to churn out another cracking contest.
Both India and Pakistan Women will be playing the first game of the Super Sixes on Sunday. The other games are between Sri Lanka Women and Bangladesh whereas South Africa Women take on Ireland Women to sum up the clashes of the day. Mithali Raj’s side will look to maintain winning momentum against Asian rivals. Mithali has been in rollicking form and led from the front. Mona Meshram, Devika Vaidya, Deepti Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur will be expected to have a go at Sana Mir’s side.
From Pakistan’s perspective, Nahida Khan, Javeria Khan and Bismah Maroof will like to continue their rich vein of form and build a good score against batting heavyweights Indian eves. Overall, a neck-to-neck game awaits the crowd in Colombo.
