Shimla: Irked by the reported statement of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) president Anurag Thakur, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that he would not attend the India-South Africa T20 match at Dharamsala on October 2. The CM, who had been at loggerheads with the HPCA, had earlier accepted the invitation to watch the match as a goodwill gesture and also waived off the security fee for the T20 tie. But, the reported statement of Thakur after CBI raids at Virbhadra’s residence that ‘HPCA has invited the chief minister and not Virbhadra Singh’ has irked the CM. SCORECARD: India vs South Africa 1st T20 match at Dharamsala
“I am not going to Dharamsala to witness the T20 match between India and South Africa as HPCA president has said that he had invited the chief minister and not Virbhadra Singh which is insulting,” Virbhadra said. “How can anyone go for witnessing the match in such as situation?” asked the CM.
