India will host South Africa for four Tests, five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in South Africa’s largest Indian tour, of 72 days. The tour will begin with a T20 practice match in Delhi, before the first T20I, in Dharamsala, and will end with the final day of the fourth Test in Delhi, on December 7. The two countries have been engaged in only one four-Test series before, in South Africa in 1992-93. India had lost that Test series 1-0, with three drawn games. That was the first Test series the two had been playing against each other. The series has been named the Mahatma Gandhi – Nelson Mandela series.
