Vernon Philander got the wicket of Murali Vijay for six runs on Day Four of the second Test between India and South Africa at Durban on Sunday. The batsmen were kept in check by the pacers with a series of short balls. Vijay was pushed on the backfoot until he nicked one to slips. India are in nine for one.

The batsmen were consistently kept in check by the short balls with Dale Steyn testing Shikhar Dhawan’s patience. Dhawan was beaten on a few occasions. Even when new batsman Cheteshwar Pujara came, Steyn welcomed him with a few more short 0nes.

In the eighth over, Philander almost got Dhawan after the ball went through between his body and bat to AB de Villiers.
