India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who claimed four wickets in South Africa’s first innings at Durban in the second and final Test, said he was trying to pitch the ball in the right areas.

Jadeja became the first left-arm Indian spinner to take four wickets in a Test innings in South Africa, obliterating the three for 73 by Venkatapathy Raju at Port Elizabeth in December 1992, reported PTI.

Jadeja bowled impressively in only his sixth Test, bowled with tight control.

“I was just trying to bowl in the right areas,” he was quoted as saying by AFP.

“To right-handers I was bowling just outside off stump and to the left-handers into the rough. The ball was turning and I was just thinking not to give them room.”

Jadeja said the wicket of De Villiers was crucial.

“Kallis and AB were playing very well. We need to get Kallis out as early as possible tomorrow,” he said.
