India women will take on their South African counterparts in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2017 at the P Sara Oval Colombo in the first encounter of Super Six. The live cricket streaming of the match will be available on icc-cricket.com. The six teams that have qualified for the Super Six stages of qualifiers are India, South Africa, Pakistan, hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland. India and South Africa clash will be the first of the Super Six. Both teams displayed dominating performance in the preliminary stages of the tournament and hence were rightly placed at the top of their respective groups.
Both teams being heavyweights, this clash definitely will be yielding some firecrackers. Both teams are yet to lose a single game in the tournament as they have won all four of their group stage games. Hence this clash will be very important for both teams. The Mithali Raj-led side had to undergo various changes before the tournament began as some of the senior players like Jhulan Goswami, Sukanya Parida and Smriti Mandhana were ruled out due to injury. Despite this, the new players who were named as replacements have stepped up and displayed some cracking performance.
Deepti Sharma and Thirush Kamini will have to continue with their impressive form with the bat in oncoming fixtures too, as they are leading runs scorers in this qualifiers so far with 143 and 111 respectively. On the other hand, Dane van Niekerk, the South African captain will be hoping Chloe Tryon gets back to scoring runs as she got off to a good start but then went off track. So her form will be very important for Niekerk.
As for bowling, Ekta Bisht and Niekerk, India and South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament would be hopeful of getting wickets at regular intervals as opposition batters have failed to read her wily spin.r
