India vs Sri Lanka 2014, 5th ODI at Ranchi: Angelo Mathews reaches 1,000 runs one-day cricket in 2014

Mathews made an unbeaten 136 not against India.

Angelo Mathews, the Sri Lanka skipper,  reached a 1,000 runs in One-Day cricket. the year 2014 in the fifth One-Day International against India on Sunday.

He became the first batsman in the year 2014 to get to the 1,000- run landmark. To add to this he’s scored a 1,000 runs  Test match cricket in the year 2014 as well.

The Sri Lanka captain has been in prolific form this year. On Sunday inthe match against India he brought up his maiden century in One-Day cricket. It was a fantastic knock off 136 off only 116 balls. He hammered the Indian bowling to all parts of the ground  in this particular game.
