Virat Kohli scored his 21st hundred in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and also became the second man after Angelo Mathews to score 1,000 runs in ODIs in the year 2014 during the course of his innings in the fifth match between India and Sri Lanka at Ranchi on Sunday.

Earlier, Ambati Rayudu was run out soon after scoring his fifth half-century. Angelo Mathews followed up his tremendous century with two early wickets as he dismissed both openers. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma were both bowled. Mathews’ maiden One-Day International (ODI) century ensured that Sri Lanka ended on a commanding 286 for eight.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Dickwella made his debut at the expense of Kusal Perera, while Kedar Jadhav made his debut for India, coming in for Suresh Raina. Umesh Yadav too was replaced by Ravichandran Ashwin. India have already won the series 4-0.
