India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Test: Sadeera Samarawickrama cleared to play on Day 3

Samarawickrama was struck in the helmet while fielding at forward short-leg on Day One.

Sadeera Samarawickrama, who has been out of the action from the final Test against India at Delhi, has been given the green signal to participate to on Day Three. He was struck on the helmet while fielding at forward short-leg on Day One, giving him a concussion. After a neurological test on Monday, he was given a go-ahead.

On Sunday, Samarawickrama was seen working out in the hotel gym to check his fitness. He hit the nets before being examined by the neurologist.

After being examined by the neurologist, Sri Lanka’s Team Manager Asanka Gurusinha told cricbuzz, “Sadeera has been cleared by the doctors and he will take part in the game from here on.”

Samarawickrama has had an unpleasing series so far. He has managed to score just 36 runs in four innings that includes two ducks.
