India are coming off a draw in whites against Bangladesh and will be eager to start well in the island nation. They will want to make the most of the three-day game to get acclimatised to the conditions and pitches here in Sri Lanka. A decent day for India! They lost the toss, were asked to bat first, the openers gave them a good start with a 108-run stand but they lost four wickets for 25 runs post lunch to be 133 for four at one point of time. Then Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara shared a 134-run stand to steady India. India lost a couple of wickets later in the day but finished the day in a good position. They wil wish their bowlers back up the good work from their batsmen. The pair of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were the only ones from the top order who did not get a start and will hope to get a second chance soon. Join us tomorrow for the all the action.

The Indians will hope that the rain stays away and they get a good practice in. Their arrival in the island nation too was marred by rain. They will be eager to get in action soon. Lahiru Thirimanne will lead a bunch of players who will also be eager to make their mark in the tour game. There will be some attention on how Kusal Perera, Upul Tharanga and co. play the tour game.
