The city of Kochi was take over by the cricket fever as international cricket is back in Kochi with the IndiaWest Indies first One Day International (ODI) of the five-match ODI series at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium on Wednesday, Deccan Chronicle reported. The day-night match will be the 10th ODI to be hosted by Kochi and India previously played here last November against the same opposition and won by six wickets.

India have a formidable record in Kochi having won six ODIs while the visit of Australia in 2010 was called off without a ball being delivered due to rains. The met department has forecast rains and it lashed out heavily here on Tuesday night but cricket lovers should be hoping the skies are clear for the 2.30 pm start.
