Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the venues for West Indies tour of India 2014 to be played in October-November. The tour will consist of three Tests, five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty 20 International (T20I).
The three Test matches will be hosted at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. The five ODIs will be hosted at Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, Cuttack, Dharamshala and Kochi. The only T20I will be hosted at Delhi.
The tour will commence with the ODIs from October 8 and the final match had been allotted to Kochi with Guwahati and Kanpur as stand-by venues, BCCI sources said.
The T20 international is scheduled on October 21 followed by a three-day gap before the commencement of three-Test series. The last Test is scheduled from November 15 to 19, the sources said.
Windies will also play two warm-up games on October 3 and 6, before the commencement of the ODI series, they added. The last time West Indies toured India was in 2013, and was significant specially because of Sachin Tendulkar‘s retirement from international cricket.

As per media reports Ranchi was being dubbed as a possible venue for a Test match but a senior BCCI official said that there was no discussion on the venue.
“Yes, Ranchi has got the ICC nod and BCCI needs to ratify it as a Test centre during a working committee meeting. But above everything, Ranchi needs to come into the rotation policy system which is in work. How could we have allotted Ranchi a match when there are other centres with valid claims of hosting a Test as per rotation policy,” the source told PTI.
